I met Pappy Sept 12, 1982 at an air show in Philadelphia.
He was very corgel and we shared an interesting conversation about his time in combat and about the television series airing at that time detailing his life and the Black Sheep Squadron. I real gentleman and hero. It was an honor to speak with him and shake his hand. The book is a very introspective look at the war, combat and his life with no punches pulled. A great read about a great man and the struggles associated with war, spending time as a POW, and life after combat and the fame that followed.
