Wife and I are local residents, new to the area. We have a 2 year old. We’re looking for someone to help out a very little bit, like less than part time. I’m busy with work. It’s kind of unique nanny like work.
Mainly, we are looking to have an extra set of hands nearby, essentially for emergencies over the next two weeks as wife is 38 ish weeks prego.
So here’s the gig: If you like kids, super easy going and need a change of scenery, maybe in between jobs, semester, divorcing…..we have a room to crash or stay in for a couple weeks. We could extend for a couple more if you’re transitioning and there’s a good fit.
What we’re looking for: You must have a car and be willing to use it either for a couple two hour trips or allow it to be used. Our Lexus is being registered in the state and the check engine light came on. We naturally don’t want to drive it. We have an appointment Tuesday and with work the car won’t be looked at by then. However, the wife is also due in the next two weeks. The guess is next week. That’s where having a second person around is helpful. 1.) To be available to drive to NY / for a prenatal appointment/ delivery - maybe two/three trips. Or allow use of the vehicle. This is the trade off with housing. Almost a swap house for car and presence during delivery and being a second set of hands.
What we provide: Housing for 2 weeks, with the possibility of 2 more. We will have food available for AM then usually have some food cooked, Lunch and Dinner. Usually Thai food or Thai American Fusion.
What you need: A good, friendly personality. Good with kids. Valid transportation and or a loner vehicle.
Things to consider: You could even work a full time job. If you go the car loan/ house swap route mainly, we will be busy doing most the work so you can keep working your job.
Bottom Line: We mainly need transportation or access to a vehicle so we can drop off at work and we are also hoping you could be available the day of delivery because our two year isn’t allowed in the delivery room and has never been left alone and also maybe help a small amount around when free IF you want. We would almost be paying for your presence and help a couple days over the next two weeks. You’d get a change of environment, transitional housing and new acquaintances that are chill and open minded.
Pay: Since the work is only needed briefly if available the day of delivery and during prenatal trips if you want to go on the rides, you’d make $250-500 in two weeks.
