AI says:The name itself—a portmanteau of Stradivarius and Mandolin—was a trademark of the Sorkin Music Company of New York. While Sorkin distributed them, the actual construction was outsourced to various factories over the years, including the Hominick Brothers in New York,United Guitar in New Jersey and occasionally Harmony in Chicago.
