Kay "Music note" vintage 3/4 size white-neck parlor acoustic guitar.Faux flame tobacco burst finished spruce or birch top & birch sides & back.Ivory paint "binding" sides & top perfling.Black painted V radius 3 bolt neck & thin pointed crown headstock w/Kluson phillips head strip tuners & ivory buttons.G tuner post slightly bent but functional.Painted "Kelvinator" K headstock logo.18 fret maple board(whiteneck) w/receding black block inlay.1 11/16" ivory nut. 24 1/2" scale.One piece unfixed ebony bridge."K" logo solid chrome dive board tailpiece.Neck is flat & straight w/nice relief & plays clean up to the 12th fret w/incredible low <1/8" action.Has a couple fretting buzz notes past the 12th fret on the low E & A strings.Made in the Kay Chicago plants 1960s or so.Well preserved for its 60-70 years.Has some minor paint scuffing & scratch wear,mostly on the back body.Apparently all original.Sweet vintage parlor tones w/ a clangy banjo like voice. 35.00
Harmony H5422 acoustic guitar.3/4 size steel string concert/parlor OO style body.Made in Taiwan 1970s.Spruce top w/mahogany finished sides & back(maybe all birch).Mahogany U radius neck & slotted headstock w/metal post Kluson style side winder tuners & ivory buttons.Neck joint solid.Flat curfing & ladder bracing solid inside.18 fret ebony board is 22 5/8" scale & 1 3/4" at zero fret.Neck is flat & straight & plays mostly clean w/low pro 1/8" action 12th fret.Gets a bit squeaky on a couple notes toward the top but no dead notes.Adj.ebony bridge is solid w/no pull or belly.Neck is smaller than a 3/4 & closer to a 1/2 scale.Well made intro model for children & small hands.Well tempered w/short scale consideration.Vintage woody parlor tones & easy play healthy U neck. 30.00
Have another vintage Harmony H5422 needing cost prohibitive body work w/warped top.Has original tuners,pickguard & tailpiece.Take it for spare parts or as a practice luthier project. 15.00.
Cameo 3/4 scale all mahogany parlor style guitar.Model 4001M. 1960s early 70s most likely Japan made(Global sticker inside).Mahogany top,back,sides & dovetail neck & slotted headstock.Ebony binding top,sides,back & neck.Crested Kluson metal strip tuners & ivory bean buttons.1 3/4" wide at top nut.23 1/4" scale 18 fret ebony board is thick(1/4")& responsive w/vintage zero fret.Black single ply teardrop pickguard w/floral graphic.Rosewood bridge is flat solid connected w/minor pull & belly that doesn't effect action.Neck is flat & straight w/nice relief & plays clean on all frets w/low pro action(1/8").Well preserved w/lite scratch & scuff wear.Tuners are a bit stubborn but have been lubed & functional.Good looking vintage mahogany parlor.Well tempered w/3/4 scale tuning considerations.Has a deep woody voice & parlor banjo style clang tones & nice projection.Easy play healthy C neck.Crazy asking prices on feebay & reverb for a little known Japan parlor.Global was a Japan jobber that had many brands under its label.Global moved production to Korea later but this one appears to be from an early run w/a zero fret & vintage tuners. 35.00
"F" style 8 string mandolin.Vintage no name Japan made.Cherry tobacco burst spruce top w/2 F holes.Two ply black/white raised pickguard.Vintage Harmony style 2 piece adj.rosewood bridge w/chrome height wheels. Chrome shell covered 2 piece bridge.Maple C-burst back w/black finish sides.Japan 4 bolt neck plate.Squared off U neck & oversize "Poor Man's Gibson" carved surf headstock.4 on a strip late 60s-70s Kluson style open gear philips head tuners w/ivory buttons.20 fret rosewood board is 14 1/2" scale w/receding rectangle MoP inlay.Neck is flat & straight w/nice relief & plays clean.Some "artist" spray painted in silver across the top of the headstock & the top half moon horn & 2 points on the treble side.Very well constructed f mando from the Japan 60s-70s shops & stands up well despite the crude art.Has ivory bound sides,neck & headstock & quality tail,bridge & tuners.Looks all original & very well preserved structurally.Mandolin is outside my wheelhouse & you are on your own w/tuning & setup.It came in tuned & played & sounded great.Needs new strings. 50.00
