Soundcraft GB8 48 mixer brand new in box!
After some serious considerations (and measurements) I have decided that this mixer is too big for my control room. This was a special order item that is non returnable so now is your chance to save a bundle on this desk. The gb8 48 would be incredible for church services, tracking to your DAW, theater installation or touring companies. DON'T GET STUCK PAGING THRU MENUS IN THE MIDDLE OF A PRESENTATION. THIS MIXER IS SO EASY TO SET UP AND RUN, THAT IT PRACTICALLY RUNS ITSELF!
It's not just ease of use that made me decide on the Soundcraft GB8, there are several reasons. CLARITY AND HEADROOM are another. It has a very neutral sonic footprint on the signals passing through it, you don't buy this mixer for color. It lines up perfectly on 0 dBu and provides 20 dB of clean headroom at .003% distortion. Unlike modern digital mixers this one does not stop at +20 dB, it can squeeze out another 4-6 dB before hitting 1% distortion on the analyzer. Even at that level it still sounds like audio where a digital-over sounds nasty and not at all like audio. The forgiving nature of analog is one reason why people love it.
This FEATURE LADEN model is configured with 48 input channels. 48 inputs feature microphone and line level connections, an additional 4 stereo inputs are provided as well. The stereo inputs (ST1 - ST4) provide L/R stereo line level inputs and 3-pin XLR microphone inputs for stereo microphone placement when capturing vocals, instruments, ambiance, etc. The console features 8 group outputs enabling routing to monitors, external recorders, etc. The GB8 series implements Soundcraft's GB30 microphone preamp and EQ, delivering the sonic quality expected of more costly consoles.
Additional features include Soundcraft's famed matrix mixer for added routing flexibility and an integrated meter bridge, enabling accurate metering. Direct outs and switchable 48v phantom power on every channel make this board versatile for use at front of house, monitor mix, or adding warmth to a digital audio workstation.
